Community-Focused Week Ahead: Manatee County Hosts Events on Development, Environment, and Family Fun
The week of July 21–28, 2025, is packed with engaging, educational, and entertaining events throughout Manatee County, offering residents opportunities to connect with local leaders, celebrate environmental stewardship, and experience community traditions.
🎤 Civic Engagement and Development
July 23 – Speak With Your Commissioner
District 1 Commissioner Carol Ann Felts will host a community discussion at Rocky Bluff Library in Ellenton from 6–7 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring questions and concerns as part of Manatee County’s open dialogue initiative.
July 24 – Tiger Bay Club Forum: Growth in Manatee County
The Manatee Tiger Bay Club will hold a panel at the Manatee Performing Arts Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to discuss future development. Featured speakers include Councilwoman Lisa Gonzalez Moore, Commissioner Carol Felts, Dr. Abbey Tyrna, Norma Kennedy, and Karon Dixon. The session aims to spotlight citizen input on infrastructure and environmental planning.

Bingo Bonanza – July 26
Hosted by Desoto HQ, Bingo Bonanza promises a high-energy evening of cash prizes and friendly competition. Early ticket purchase is recommended due to limited seating.
🌿 Environmental and Educational Programs
July 23 – Oyster Garden Science Presentation
Students will present eco-friendly garden designs and demonstrate how to create recycled cement plant pots at Palma Sola Botanical Park from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is free.
July 23 – Make It Take It Workshop: Wool Edition
At the Manatee County Agricultural Museum, children can explore animal by-products and create crafts tied to agricultural history.
July 26 – Sea Oat Planting on Coquina Beach
Keep Manatee Beautiful invites volunteers to help plant 12,000 sea oats as part of the annual dune restoration effort. The event starts at 7 a.m. and supports erosion control and native habitat preservation.
July 26 – Recycle Rally at Palmetto Branch Library
Children can enjoy hands-on activities that teach about recycling and sustainability through videos, games, and crafts. The event starts at 10 a.m.

Palma Sola Botanical Park – July 23
Free “Oyster Garden/Recycled Pot” class at 11 a.m. Part of the Summer Environmental Classes series.
Turtle Tracks & Shorebird Facts – July 21
Holmes Beach City Hall hosts its weekly educational presentation on sea turtle nesting and shorebird behavior every Monday from 10–11 a.m. through August.
$1 Family Movies – July 22 & 23
Regal Summer Movie Express continues with Kung Fu Panda 4 and Despicable Me 4 at local Regal theaters.
