Community Rallies for Family After Tragic Bradenton House Fire Claims Young Boy's Life
Neighbors and coworkers are coming together to support a Bradenton family devastated by a fatal house fire that claimed the life of 4-year-old Logan Hajimihalis earlier this month.
The fire broke out on June 14 at a home on 53rd Avenue West. Logan’s mother, 48-year-old Tara Horsely, suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said the child’s parents were unable to reach him during the blaze, and investigators believe the incident was accidental.
Horsely, who works at Pet Resort Animal Clinic in Bradenton, is described by coworkers as kind and deeply compassionate. “We’re all just devastated,” said Andrea Colon, a fellow employee. “Logan was energetic, vibrant, and lovable—just a shining star.”
In response to the tragedy, a neighbor of Horsely’s mother created a GoFundMe page to assist with Tara’s medical recovery and funeral expenses for Logan. The fundraiser highlights that Horsely is a single mother without insurance and is in critical need of community support.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the fundraiser had collected more than $3,700, including a generous $1,000 donation from Cedar Hammock firefighters, who were among the first responders on the scene.
Those wishing to contribute can find the campaign online, as the Bradenton community continues to rally around the grieving family during this heartbreaking time.
