Community Rallies to Feed Manatee’s Children Through Fundraiser and Free Summer Meals Program
F.E.L.T. Inc. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies) is hosting a special evening fundraiser on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Fiorelli Winery in Bradenton. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature wine and cheese tastings, basket drawings, and a 50/50 raffle. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with various community groups, all while supporting F.E.L.T.'s mission to fight food insecurity among children in Manatee County.
Meanwhile, throughout the summer, free meals for kids and teens will be provided Monday through Friday at numerous sites across Manatee County as part of the Summer BreakSpot program. Locations include Southeast High School, Lincoln Park, Ward Temple Church, Pride Park, Turner Chapel, and several apartment complexes and community centers in Bradenton, Palmetto, and Parrish.
Meal times vary by location, with service generally running between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For the full list of sites and schedules, families are encouraged to visit SummerBreakSpot.org or call (850) 617-7170.
Both initiatives aim to ensure no child in Manatee County goes hungry, especially when school is out.
