CSX Railroad Crossing Closure to Impact 9th Avenue West Traffic in Bradenton

Drivers in Bradenton should prepare for detours as CSX temporarily closes the railroad crossing on 9th Avenue West/MLK between 5th Street West and 6th Street West for repair work.

According to the Bradenton Police Department, the crossing is scheduled to close at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, and is expected to reopen by 8 a.m. Thursday, May 28.

The closure is needed so CSX crews can repair a rail defect at the crossing. Traffic will not be able to pass through the area during the repair period.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, including 6th Avenue West for eastbound travel and Manatee Avenue for westbound traffic, to avoid delays.

Officials advise drivers to allow extra travel time and use caution around the work zone while repairs are underway.
