Customer Shot During Armed Robbery at Bradenton Arcade, Suspect at Large
A customer was hospitalized after being shot during an early morning armed robbery at a Manatee County arcade, prompting an ongoing search for the suspect.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 5:45 a.m. Monday at Mega Arcade, located at 7321 U.S. 41 South. Investigators said a masked man entered the business and began demanding cash from customers inside.
Most individuals complied with the suspect’s demands, but one customer refused, leading to a physical struggle. Deputies said the suspect then shot the victim multiple times at close range.
During the incident, the arcade manager went into an office after the suspect demanded additional money. While inside, the manager retrieved a firearm and fired one shot toward the suspect. Authorities said the suspect was not struck and fled the scene on foot.
The injured customer was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. His current condition has not been released.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately six feet tall. Investigators believe the individual may have targeted the location because cash is likely on hand during the early morning hours.
The investigation remains active as deputies continue searching for the suspect.
