De Soto Heritage Festival to Return in 2026 with Weeklong Celebration in Bradenton
The Hernando DeSoto Historical Society has announced the return of its Heritage Festival in 2026, bringing a full week of community events, tradition, and celebration to Bradenton. The festival will culminate with the De Soto Grand Parade on Saturday, April 25, 2026, one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.
The De Soto Grand Parade is expected to feature more than 150 parade entries and draw crowds of more than 100,000 spectators, making it one of the largest and longest-running parades in the Southeastern United States. The nighttime parade is known for its illuminated floats, bead and coin throws, and ceremonial moments, including the unveiling of the new Hernando de Soto, Captain of the Crewe, along with the crowning of the Queen and Princess.
Festivities on parade day will also include the Downtown Bradenton Block Party in the courthouse area. The pre-parade celebration will feature food, live music, dancing, vendors, and family-friendly activities, setting the stage for the parade as it moves through downtown.
Organizers note that the Grand Parade provides significant visibility for participating organizations and businesses, offering a high-profile opportunity to engage with tens of thousands of residents and visitors. Information on parade entries and sponsorship opportunities is expected to be released in the coming months.
The 2026 De Soto Heritage Festival continues a long-standing local tradition that celebrates Bradenton’s history while bringing the community together through pageantry, entertainment, and civic pride. Additional details and updates are available through the Hernando DeSoto Historical Society’s official website.
