De Soto Queen’s Court to Host Information Social Highlighting Tradition and Opportunity
The Hernando de Soto Historical Society will host an informational social for the De Soto Queen’s Court on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bradenton Yacht Club, located at 4307 13th Street West in Palmetto.
The De Soto Queen’s Court is one of Manatee County’s most recognized traditions, offering young women opportunities for scholarships, leadership development, networking, and travel. Members serve as community ambassadors while forming lifelong friendships and representing the region at events across the state and beyond.
The Queen’s Court is part of the broader Hernando de Soto Historical Society, which has been active in Manatee County since 1939. The society was formed to honor the arrival of Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto in Florida and to celebrate the area’s rich history. Over the years, its annual De Soto Heritage Festival has become one of the largest cultural events in the community, featuring parades, pageantry, and educational outreach.
For generations, the Queen’s Court has played a vital role in this legacy, connecting young women with opportunities to serve their community while preserving the historical and cultural traditions unique to Manatee County.
Those interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to attend the information social. For details, contact Sean Peel at 941-812-4673 or email QueensCourt@DesotoHQ.com. The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is headquartered at 605 17th Avenue West in Bradenton.
