Detwiler’s Farm Market to Open New Distribution Center in Palmetto
Detwiler’s Farm Market will soon expand its operations with the opening of a new 133,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Palmetto. The facility, located within the Florida International Tradeport, is scheduled to open on Monday, September 29, 2025.
The distribution center will serve as a hub for the company’s six grocery stores across Sarasota and Manatee counties. The investment is expected to strengthen local supply chains, create new jobs, and support future store openings while helping the company maintain its focus on affordable pricing.
Detwiler’s currently employs about 800 workers across its retail stores and corporate operations. Company officials did not specify how many positions will be added with the new facility, but the expansion is designed to increase efficiency and capacity.
The Florida International Tradeport, developed by Benderson Development, is a two-million-square-foot industrial park that stretches nearly a mile along Interstate 75 near the U.S. 301 interchange in north Manatee County. The Detwiler’s site will join other major tenants in the complex, reflecting the continued growth of logistics and distribution activity in the region.
With the addition of the Palmetto center, Detwiler’s aims to enhance its ability to serve customers throughout the area and prepare for long-term growth.
