Dominant First Half Powers Paradise to 3-0 Win

Sarasota Paradise defeated Weston FC 3-0 in Lakewood Ranch. Goals came from Jeffrey White, Owen Barnett, and Andres Freire.

Paradise had a lightning-quick start as Jeffrey White found the net with a right-footed shot in just the 3rd minute of play.

The lead doubled in the 33rd minute when Owen Barnett nailed a shot into the bottom left corner.

Andres Freire extended the advantage even further in the 43rd minute, calmly converting a penalty and sending the keeper the wrong way.

After a strong offensive first half, the defense stepped up in the second half to preserve the clean sheet. Goalkeeper Jack Kilstrom came up big with several crucial saves to keep Weston off the scoresheet.

Sunrise Irrigation Player of the Game Christian Leon said postgame, “It was a team effort. All of us put in 100%. We got the win and I’m glad about that.”

Attention now turns to a massive divisional matchup on Wednesday, July 2, as Paradise travels up I-275 for the Skyway Derby against St. Petersburg FC. Both teams are currently tied for first place in the division, making this clash even more important.
