Donate a Book, Get a Slice: Oyster Bar Campaign Supports Childhood Literacy
Throughout the month of August, participating locations of Anna Maria Oyster Bar are offering a sweet reward for a generous act. From August 1 through August 31, guests who donate new or gently used children’s books will receive a free slice of Key Lime Pie as a thank-you — all part of a community-wide effort to promote childhood literacy.
The campaign benefits the Dive Into Reading program, a literacy initiative created by Anna Maria Oyster Bar that aims to improve reading proficiency among elementary students. Dive Into Reading provides local children with opportunities to read with trained mentors during the summer, helping prevent the academic “summer slide” and strengthening reading confidence.
Books collected during the campaign will stock the restaurant’s Book Nooks, providing young guests with something to read while dining or a treasured book to take home. It’s part of a broader commitment by the restaurant to give back through its “Shuckin’ Good Cause” hospitality initiative.
With the motto “Let’s spark a love of reading together,” the campaign blends community generosity with a beloved dessert — proving that giving back can be both meaningful and delicious.
