A driver was taken to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into a business at Cortez Village Plaza in Bradenton.
The Bradenton Police Department and City of Bradenton Fire Department responded to the car-versus-building crash at the shopping plaza at 6670 Cortez Blvd.
The driver was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The business struck by the vehicle was closed at the time of the crash, and no injuries inside the building were reported. A nearby restaurant was evacuated as a precaution while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Authorities have not released additional information about what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking the building.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Bradenton Police Department.
