The Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County will offer free developmental screenings for children ages 1 month through 5 years on November 18 and December 9, 2026, helping families monitor their child’s growth and identify potential developmental concerns.
Screenings will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Early Learning Coalition, located at 600 8th Avenue West, Suite 100, in Palmetto. Appointments are required.
Every child develops at their own pace, but early screenings can provide valuable insight into developmental milestones and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
The screenings assess seven areas of development: communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, personal-social development, problem-solving skills, vision, and hearing.
Identifying potential developmental delays early allows families to seek additional evaluations and resources when needed. Screenings can also provide reassurance to parents whose children are progressing as expected.
Families are encouraged to participate, whether they have specific concerns or simply want to better understand their child’s development.
To schedule a free screening, email Childdevelopment@elc-manatee.org or call 941-757-2900, extension 2400.
The initiative reflects the Early Learning Coalition’s commitment to supporting healthy development and helping Manatee County children build a strong foundation for future learning.
