Motorists traveling through the Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road intersection should prepare for lane shifts and significant delays as Manatee County crews conduct emergency drainage work this week.
The work begins Tuesday, Sept. 1, and is expected to continue through the end of the week.
According to Manatee County, the emergency project is focused on drainage work at the intersection of Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road, an increasingly busy area of north Manatee County near Interstate 75.
Drivers should expect traffic patterns to shift while crews and equipment are operating in the work zone. Long delays are possible, particularly during periods of heavier traffic.
Motorists traveling through the area are encouraged to allow additional time to reach their destinations and pay close attention to warning signs and temporary traffic controls.
Drivers should also reduce their speed and use extra caution around construction crews and equipment.
The county has not announced a full road closure as part of the work. The emergency drainage project is currently expected to be completed by the end of the week.
