Empath Blue Butterfly to Host 2026 Virtual Seminar Series on Children’s Grief
The Empath Blue Butterfly Children’s Grief Care team will host a series of virtual seminars in 2026 focused on understanding and supporting children through grief. The program, titled Tuesday Tidbits About Children’s Grief, will cover a range of topics designed to help caregivers, educators and community members better respond to the emotional needs of grieving children.
Each session will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with separate event links provided to each attendee for the seminar they register for. Participants can RSVP by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or by contacting BBEducation@EmpathHealth.org for additional information.
The first session, Foundations of Children’s Grief, is scheduled for March 3. The seminar will explore how grief can present differently in children and how it is sometimes mistaken for behavioral challenges or typical developmental changes. The session will focus on how adults can provide steady, meaningful support.
On July 7, the team will present Talking About Tough Grief Topics. This session will address the challenges adults often face when discussing loss with children and will offer guidance on honest, age-appropriate communication strategies.
The final seminar, Fostering Coping Skills and Resilience, will take place on Oct. 6. The session will examine how children can build resilience through emotional awareness, healthy coping strategies and compassionate modeling by adults.
The seminars are part of the Blue Butterfly Children’s Grief Care program, an initiative of Empath. Additional information is available at BlueButterflyCenter.org.
