Fatal Early-Morning Crash Closes 1st Street in Bradenton
A 39-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on 1st Street in Bradenton after losing control of his vehicle and striking multiple utility poles.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. as the driver was traveling southbound on 1st Street. Authorities reported that speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
Following the crash, southbound lanes of 1st Street between Manatee Avenue and 9th Avenue were temporarily closed while officers conducted an investigation. Northbound lanes remained open, with traffic detoured around the affected area.
The roadway has since reopened.
