Fatal Pedestrian Crash Closes Portion of US-301 in Bradenton
A fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian early Monday morning has left one person dead and prompted road closures along US-301 in Bradenton.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:36 a.m. near the intersection of US-301 and 15th Street East. Troopers said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, and the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
US-301 was temporarily blocked in the area as troopers and emergency crews responded. Drivers were urged to seek alternate routes while law enforcement conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
