FDOT to Hold Public Hearing on Bradenton-Palmetto Connector Project
Residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed Bradenton-Palmetto Connector and provide feedback during a public hearing hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation on Thursday, July 16.
The hearing is part of the Bradenton-Palmetto Connector Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, identified as Financial Project Identification (FPID) Number 444843-1. The study is evaluating potential improvements designed to increase roadway capacity, improve regional mobility, accommodate future transportation demand, and enhance safety for all users crossing the Manatee River.
During the hearing, FDOT will present the preferred project alternative along with the analysis completed to date. Community members will have the opportunity to review the proposed location and conceptual design and provide comments on the project’s potential social, economic and environmental impacts.
The hearing will be offered in both in-person and virtual formats, with the same information presented at each. All participants will have the opportunity to submit comments.
The in-person hearing will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. at Veterans Hall at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, located at 1402 14th Avenue West in Palmetto.
A live online hearing will begin at 5:45 p.m. Participants must register in advance to attend virtually.
Public input gathered during the hearing will be considered as FDOT continues planning for the proposed connector project.
