Final Section of Bradenton Intersection Reopens After Weeks of Utility Repairs
The last portion of a Bradenton intersection has officially reopened following a series of wastewater utility repairs that began in early October.
Work at the intersection of 17th Avenue West and 14th Street West started on Oct. 10, requiring crews to uncover underground infrastructure to complete the necessary repairs. Most of the intersection reopened on Oct. 30 after underground work and surface restoration were completed, according to the City of Bradenton.
However, a westbound segment of 17th Avenue West needed additional attention, making it the final piece to reopen. City officials explained that the repair process required opening the roadway to reach wastewater infrastructure beneath the pavement before restoring the street to full use.
With all sections now open, traffic flow through the area has returned to normal.
