Firefighter and Resident Injured in Bradenton House Fire
Two people, including a firefighter, were injured Thursday evening after a fire broke out at a condemned home in Bradenton, according to Southern Manatee Fire Rescue.
Crews responded to the single-family residence in the 100 block of 28th Avenue Drive East around 7:10 p.m. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from a bedroom and discovered several people inside the structure.
One individual was found outside suffering from smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A firefighter also sustained minor injuries during the response and was treated at a hospital.
Battalion Chief Chris Gould said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
