Florida Cultural Group Opens New Season With Youth Programs, FAME and Expansion Ahead
Florida Cultural Group and the Manatee Performing Arts Center are beginning a new season after a busy summer that introduced more than 1,000 children to live theater in just six weeks.
Young participants had opportunities to perform onstage, work behind the scenes and experience productions featuring their peers. The organization said the summer participation reflects its broader mission of inspiring young people while bringing the community together through the arts.
The new Mainstage season opened Aug. 6 with FAME, which concludes its run Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Manatee Performing Arts Center in downtown Bradenton.
Youth programming will return in September, offering children and teens opportunities to develop skills in acting and other areas of the performing arts while building confidence and gaining experience both onstage and behind the scenes.
The organization is also preparing for a major expansion next year. Sara’s Studios, a new rehearsal and Conservatory facility, is expected to come online in March. The facility will provide additional space for rehearsals, training, individual instruction, dance, acting, music and other programs aimed at developing future performers and creative artists.
The upcoming season will feature a variety of productions and educational opportunities as Florida Cultural Group continues expanding its presence in the community.
For nearly eight decades, the organization has relied on audiences, performers, volunteers, donors and families to support its theatrical and educational programs. With a new season underway, expanded youth programming returning this fall and Sara’s Studios scheduled to open in March, Florida Cultural Group is preparing for another period of growth in the performing arts in Manatee County.
