Forest Cove Project Aims to Boost Workforce Housing in Bradenton
One Stop Housing, in partnership with the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation and local businesses, is moving forward with plans to bring much-needed affordable housing to Manatee County. The initiative, designed to support working families and improve employee retention, will center around a new development called Forest Cove in Bradenton.
One Stop Housing, known for developing, building, and managing affordable workforce rental communities, plans to break ground on the project in January. Forest Cove will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for households earning between 60% and 120% of the area median income. Participating employers will have priority access for their workers, with rents set at or below 30% of annual wages.
The project will include community amenities and support services aimed at fostering long-term sustainability. Several local businesses are already involved, and One Stop Housing is seeking additional employer partners to expand the program’s reach.
To highlight the initiative, business leaders, developers, and community partners will gather on Monday, Aug. 18, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside, 6906 14th Street West in Bradenton. The event, called Breakfast with Purpose: Manatee County Employers Partner to Take a Bite Out of Workforce Housing, is hosted by One Stop Housing and Oysters Rock Hospitality with support from the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation.
Attendees will hear from developers and participating employers about how Forest Cove will address the housing needs of local workers and strengthen retention efforts. Registration is required to attend the breakfast.
