Former College Administrator Arrested in Manatee County, Awaiting Extradition on Maine Sexual Assault Charge
A former assistant class dean has been arrested in Manatee County on an out-of-state warrant tied to a sexual assault investigation in Maine.
Roosevelt Boone was taken into custody on Tuesday on a warrant issued by the Brunswick Police Department for a charge of gross sexual assault. Authorities confirmed he is currently being held at the Manatee County Jail pending extradition to Maine.
The arrest follows an extended investigation into an alleged 2024 incident in Brunswick, Maine. Law enforcement officials indicated the case did not involve the campus of Bowdoin College, where Boone had previously been employed. Assistance in locating and apprehending Boone was provided by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Maine Violent Offender Task Force.
Boone worked at Bowdoin College from 2022 to 2024 as an assistant class dean. He took a leave of absence prior to the start of the 2024–2025 academic year and later separated from the institution. College officials declined to provide additional details, citing personnel privacy policies.
At the time of his arrest, Boone was employed as an enrollment manager at IMG Academy in Bradenton. His professional background also includes playing football at the University of Maine, working in collegiate athletic programs at both the University of Maine and Rutgers University, and serving in a dean-level role at Colby College.
Boone remains in custody as legal proceedings move forward in preparation for his return to Maine.
