Former Haile Middle School Teacher Rearrested on Additional Charge in Lewd Messaging Case
A former teacher at R. Dan Nolan Haile Middle School has been rearrested in connection with an ongoing investigation involving inappropriate communication with a 14-year-old student.
Oliver Fell, 28, was retaken into custody on July 28 and charged with an additional count of transmitting material harmful to minors, according to Manatee County Jail records. She was later released on a $2,500 bond.
Fell had previously been arrested in June on two felony counts: lewd conduct with a student by an authority figure, a second-degree felony, and an initial charge of transmitting harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony.
The investigation began in early March when a school resource deputy received a report from a male student alleging that Fell had been communicating with him through Snapchat since December 2024. The student alerted school administrators, who then contacted the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Although Fell initially denied ownership of the Snapchat account and claimed she had not sent the explicit content, detectives obtained a search warrant for her residence. Investigators say background elements in the photos shared through the social media platform were consistent with items found in her home.
Fell, who had no prior criminal record, has since resigned from her position with the Manatee County School District.
The investigation remains ongoing.
