Former North Manatee Soccer Club Treasurer Charged in Alleged $146,000 Fraud Scheme
The former treasurer of the North Manatee Soccer Club has been charged with a scheme to defraud $50,000 or more after investigators alleged she used club funds to pay for more than $146,000 in personal expenses.
Nancy Kelly Fetzner, 52, was arrested on an active warrant, according to a Friday news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Court records show Fetzner faces a charge of scheme to defraud $50,000 or more under Florida law.
The investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office was notified June 29 about suspected financial fraud involving the soccer club. A club volunteer reportedly discovered transactions that appeared unrelated to club business, including spending associated with Disney, Las Vegas and sporting events.
Investigators allege Fetzner, who served as the club’s treasurer from 2015 through 2026, continued using a club sub-account that should have been closed in July 2023 after she was no longer serving as a team manager.
According to the arrest-warrant affidavit, $101,946.96 was transferred from the club’s primary account into the sub-account. Investigators also identified $44,721.44 in remote deposits made into the account after August 2023.
The affidavit alleges Fetzner made 2,841 unauthorized transactions totaling $146,686.73, which investigators identified as the club’s total financial loss.
The alleged purchases included travel, sporting events, jewelry, retail deliveries and other personal expenses.
Fetzner has been charged in connection with the allegations. The charge is an accusation, and she has not been convicted.
