Free Document Shredding and Hard Drive Destruction Offered at Clerk’s Community Shred Day
Residents looking to dispose of sensitive documents and personal information securely will have a convenient and free opportunity at the upcoming Clerk’s Community Shred Day. The event will occur on Saturday, April 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, located at 1402 14th Avenue West.
This drive-up event allows attendees to bring up to two standard-sized banker boxes of personal documents to be shredded on-site. Accepted materials include paper documents of any color or type, plastic credit cards, and identification cards. For added security and ease, the Clerk’s Office leadership and event volunteers will assist by removing items directly from participants' vehicles and delivering them to the shredding truck.
The event offers paper shredding and hard drive destruction. Participants must remove the hard drive from their computer or laptop before arrival, as only loose hard drives will be accepted for secure destruction.
The event is part of the Clerk’s Office's ongoing commitment to helping residents protect their personal information and reduce the risk of identity theft. For more details, visit www.ManateeClerk.com.
