Free “From Tech to Touch” Event Invites Families to Explore Hands-On Learning and Virtual Reality in Bradenton
Families across Manatee County are invited to participate in an interactive learning experience that blends technology, creativity, and hands-on exploration. The “From Tech to Touch: A Pine Village Journey” event will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Pine Village Community, G. Brown Resident Center, located at 5631 11th Street East in Bradenton.
The free event is open to children in grades 2 through 6, as well as younger and older participants ranging from ages 7 to 14. Organizers are encouraging families to attend together for an afternoon focused on learning through play and discovery.
Participants will rotate through multiple activity stations designed to introduce a variety of skills and career pathways. The experience will combine traditional creative tools such as pens, paper, and art materials with modern technology, including computers, animation tools, and virtual reality headsets.
A key feature of the event is the “From Tech to Touch” concept, which emphasizes connecting digital learning with real-world application. Children will have the opportunity to explore stop-motion animation, interact with a mobile learning lab, and experience virtual reality to visualize future careers and ideas.
The event is designed to support curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving by offering tactile, hands-on activities alongside high-tech experiences. Organizers aim to create an engaging environment where children can imagine future possibilities while building practical skills.
The program is hosted by community partners including the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County, State College of Florida, and Suncoast Credit Union, along with additional local organizations focused on education and family engagement.
Food, activities, and all programming will be provided at no cost, with organizers emphasizing accessibility and community participation. Families are encouraged to attend and take part in the two-hour learning journey that blends innovation with interactive fun.
