The Center of Anna Maria Island will host a free men’s health workshop on Wednesday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in partnership with Movember, a global organization dedicated to improving men’s health.
The workshop, titled Brave Men Talk, will focus on prostate health, risk factors, early detection, and screening recommendations. Bob Evans, a representative of Movember, will lead the discussion and provide information about ways individuals and families can support men’s health.
The event aims to increase awareness of prostate health while encouraging open conversations about health concerns that men may be reluctant to discuss. Participants will learn about the importance of understanding personal risk factors, recognizing potential health concerns, and discussing appropriate screenings with healthcare providers.
Movember is an international movement focused on addressing major men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. Through education, research, and community engagement, the organization works to improve health outcomes for men.
The workshop is open to community members interested in learning more about men’s health, whether for themselves or to support family members and friends.
The event will take place at The Center of Anna Maria Island on Wednesday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendance is free.
