Free Summer Youth Camp Coming to Palmetto Through MCSO Partnership
Manatee County families will have a new opportunity this summer as the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office partners with the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches to host a free four-day Harmony In The Streets (HITS) mobile youth camp.
The camp will take place at Palm View Elementary School, located at 6025 Bayshore Road in Palmetto, from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, 2026. Daily hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with drop-off beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Designed for children ages 6 to 12, the program will accommodate up to 50 participants. The camp will be led by School Resource Deputies from the sheriff’s office alongside staff from the youth ranches organization, providing a structured environment focused on engagement, mentorship, and positive experiences.
Participants can expect a mix of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the week. In addition, specialized units from the sheriff’s office will conduct demonstrations and interactive displays, offering students a closer look at public safety operations.
The initiative is supported through a collaboration with Drug Free Manatee and the School District of Manatee County, helping expand access to youth programming during the summer months.
Registration is required, and families can apply online through the program’s official form. For additional information, questions can be directed to Lieutenant Julio Jordan with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office via email at julio.jordan-escalona@manateesheriff.com.
