FREE Tennis for Fun Clinics Return in December, Weekly Sessions Begin in January
Manatee County is expanding its partnership with Tennis for Fun after a successful clinic held last weekend at the John Marble Park facility. Dozens of participants took part in the free instructional event, which introduces the fundamentals of tennis while creating an inclusive, social environment for people of all abilities.
The next one-day clinic is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch Park Tennis Courts. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic tennis skills, meet new people, and enjoy a supportive outdoor activity at no cost.
Building on the enthusiasm from recent events, organizers will launch a weekly Tennis for Fun clinic beginning in January. The sessions will be held every Sunday from January 11 through April 26, continuing at the same time and location. Community members are welcome to attend each week or join whenever they are able.
Tennis for Fun, founded in 2000, is known for offering free tennis clinics designed for individuals with special needs. The program emphasizes physical activity, friendship, and confidence-building through accessible instruction and positive encouragement. Manatee County officials say they are pleased to expand opportunities for residents to participate in adaptive and inclusive recreation.
