Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare (FoMCAW) invites two- and four-legged community members alike to raise a glass—and a paw—in honor of a decade dedicated to saving shelter animals. The nonprofit organization is hosting its 10th Anniversary Birthday Bash at Sarasota Dog Bar on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Sarasota Dog Bar is located at 1314 10th St., Sarasota, FL 34236, 941-444-7925.
For the past ten years, FoMCAW has worked to fund vital medical treatments for life-saving surgeries, provide dog beds and enrichment materials, treat heartworm-positive dogs and support adoption initiatives for thousands of homeless pets across Manatee County. The upcoming celebration brings the community together for a festive day of fun, food and drink, raffles and silent auctions, complimentary dog baths, delicious cupcakes and pet treat bags, on-site adoptions and retail vendors, as well as a collection of pet food, toys and donations.
Event Highlights Include:
“Bark-day” Celebration: Dog-friendly birthday treats, pup cups, and photo opportunities. Cupcakes donated by Hoodcakes. Dog Baths by donation with Healing Hands Grooming.

“$10 for 10” Fundraising Drive: Opportunities to contribute to FoMCAW’s ongoing anniversary campaign, where a $10 gift directly funds critical medical care, Kuranda beds, and shelter enrichment items with a $1000 match from one of our supporters.
Raffles & Silent Auctions: Prizes donated by generous local vendors and sponsors.
Meet & Greet: Connect with FoMCAW volunteers, learn about foster opportunities, and meet adoptable pets looking for forever homes.
“Reaching our 10th anniversary is a testament to the incredible compassion of our community,” said Caryn Hodge, board member of Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare. “Over the last decade, every life saved, every medical surgery funded, and every adoption made possible has been thanks to people who care deeply about shelter animals. Celebrating this milestone at Sarasota Dog Bar is our way of saying thank you while continuing the work that keeps these animals healthy and safe.”
Admission to the event is just $7 for a day pass. Members enter for free. Note: Human guests bringing their dogs to Sarasota Dog Bar must adhere to standard venue guidelines, including proof of up-to-date vaccinations and dog registration where required.
