Full Stage Ahead at Manatee Performing Arts Center in January 2026 with Drama, Musicals and Family Fun
The Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 Third Avenue West kicks off 2026 with a packed January lineup featuring tributes, dramatic theatre, a whimsical kids’ camp, and a classic musical that promises something for every audience on the Gulf Coast.
The month opens with Fleetwood Max: the Definitive Fleetwood Mac Tribute on January 6, offering fans a high-energy salute to one of rock’s most iconic bands with two performances scheduled in Stone Hall at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.
From January 8 through January 18, the beloved stage drama Terms of Endearment runs multiple evenings, bringing its heartwarming, poignant story to life for local theatergoers.
January 9 through 11 also features entries in the Theatre Odyssey 21st Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival, showcasing a variety of short works that spotlight creativity and community talent.
Families and young performers will find magic and inspiration later in the month when Once Upon a Mattress opens January 22 and continues through the end of the month and into early February — a beloved musical that combines humor and song for all ages.
In addition to theatrical productions, the center is hosting Alice in Wonderland Jr. – Kids Camp on January 24, a fun-filled morning of performance for youth that culminates in their own whimsical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.

A playful retelling of the classic fairytale The Princess and the Pea, Once Upon a Mattress follows the unconventional Princess Winnifred as she attempts to win the heart of Prince Dauntless while navigating an overprotective queen and a royal family with very particular ideas about marriage. Known for its witty dialogue, memorable score, and comedic charm, the musical has long been a favorite with audiences of all ages.
