Gaetano’s Strong Start Not Enough in Marauders Loss to Flying Tigers
Brazoban earns RBI single, Bradenton drops third straight series
Yonleg Gaetano tossed 5.0 strong innings despite a 4-1 loss for the Bradenton Marauders (17-30, 48-64) to the Lakeland Flying Tigers (22-24, 53-58) on Sunday from Publix Field. Bralyn Brazoban earned an RBI single, while Bradenton dropped their third straight series.
The Flying Tigers offense went up 4-0 with two runs in the second inning, a run in the sixth, and a run in the eighth.
In the top of the ninth, the Marauders scratched across a run against Flying Tigers reliever Frenny Grant. Jack Scanlon singled and Luke Scherrer walked to put runners on second and first. Brazoban singled to right, scoring Scanlon to make it 4-1.
Grant kept Bradenton scoreless the rest of the way to finalize a 4-1 win for Lakeland.
The Marauders take the day off on Monday before beginning a six-game homestand against the Jupiter Hammerheads. First pitch from LECOM Park is set for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
