Gas Line Damage Closes Section of 75th Street in Bradenton
A section of 75th Street West in Bradenton was temporarily closed Monday morning after workers accidentally struck a gas line while relocating utility poles, according to the West Manatee Fire District.
The incident occurred between 18th Avenue West and 19th Avenue Drive West, prompting emergency crews to block off the area as a safety precaution. The closure caused traffic delays in the surrounding neighborhoods while repairs were made.
The affected portion of the road reopened shortly before 2 p.m., the Manatee County Public Works Department said in a news release. The utility work was part of the ongoing 75th Street West Improvements Project, which includes infrastructure upgrades and safety enhancements along the corridor.
