Construction is continuing on the third phase of the Gateway Greenway Trail as crews work through environmental and site-related conditions along the project corridor.
Current work includes addressing wetland-related site conditions and completing the required relocation of gopher tortoises. County officials said the environmental work is a necessary part of the construction process as the trail project moves forward.
The Gateway Greenway Trail is part of Manatee County’s expanding trailway network, designed to provide additional opportunities for bicycling, walking and other forms of nonmotorized recreation and transportation.
