Gateway South Women’s Shelter Opens in Bradenton, Expanding Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness
A new resource for women experiencing homelessness has officially opened in Bradenton with the launch of the Gateway South Women’s Shelter, operated by Helping Up Mission.
Located at 407 57th Avenue East, the shelter is open seven days a week at no cost to guests. The facility provides overnight accommodations and essential services to meet immediate needs in a safe and supportive environment.
Overnight check-in begins at 3 p.m., with guests permitted to arrive on the property no earlier than 2:45 p.m. Check-out is scheduled for 8 a.m. each morning. To ensure safety and organization within the shelter, guests may bring one small bag inside, while additional personal belongings are securely stored on-site.
The shelter provides dinner and breakfast daily, along with lounge clothing and hygiene products. These services are designed to reduce barriers for women seeking short-term shelter and stability.
Helping Up Mission officials say the Gateway South Women’s Shelter reflects the organization’s mission of restoring hope and rebuilding lives by addressing urgent needs while connecting guests to longer-term support services.
