SunCoast Blood Centers and Gecko’s Grill & Pub are partnering for a September 11 blood drive that allows area residents to honor those affected by the 2001 terrorist attacks while helping patients in the local community.
The Honor. Remember. Give. Blood Drive will take place Friday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at four Gecko’s Grill & Pub locations in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
In Manatee County, donations will be accepted at Gecko’s at Twelve Oaks Plaza, 7228 55th Ave. E. in Bradenton. Additional blood drives will be held at Gecko’s locations at 351 N. Cattlemen Road, 5585 Palmer Crossing Circle and 6606 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
The event is being held on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, providing participants with a way to remember the lives lost, honor first responders and others who served, and give back through a donation that could help someone in need.
According to SunCoast Blood Centers, each blood donation has the potential to help save up to three lives. Blood collected by the organization supports patients and hospitals in the local community.
As an additional incentive, successful donors will receive a $50 Gecko’s Grill & Pub gift card while supplies last.
Appointments are recommended, although walk-ins will also be accepted during the event. Donors can learn more about the blood drive and schedule an appointment through SunCoast Blood Centers’ Honor. Remember. Give. event page.
