Giving Challenge Returns April 15-16 to Support Hundreds of Local Nonprofits
The 10th annual Giving Challenge will bring together hundreds of nonprofits, donors, and community members for a 24-hour online fundraising event designed to strengthen charitable giving across the region.
Hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, the Giving Challenge will run from noon on April 15 through noon on April 16, 2026. The event supports more than 750 nonprofits serving Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.
The Giving Challenge has become a cornerstone of regional philanthropy, creating opportunities for individuals to contribute to causes they care about while helping nonprofits expand their reach and impact. Participating organizations represent a wide range of missions, including education, health services, environmental initiatives, arts and culture, and human services.
Designed as a fully online event, the Giving Challenge encourages community-wide participation and emphasizes the power of collective giving. Beyond fundraising, the initiative fosters collaboration among nonprofits and builds lasting relationships between organizations, donors, and supporters.
Organizers highlight the event as more than a single day of donations, noting its role in strengthening the nonprofit sector and inspiring long-term engagement in charitable efforts across the region.
