Gulf View Windows and Doors Owner Arrested in $800K Fraud Scheme
A Bradenton business owner is facing serious felony charges following a nearly year-long investigation by the Bradenton Police Department. Jeremy DeMers, 45, owner of Gulf View Windows and Doors (GVWD), was arrested on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and charged with misappropriating construction funds in excess of $100,000 and scheming to defraud more than $50,000—both first-degree felonies.
DeMers took over GVWD in early 2023 after the previous owner, his brother Jordan DeMers, stepped down due to a cancer diagnosis. Jordan passed away in April 2024. Within months of Jeremy DeMers’ takeover, complaints began to surface from area construction companies, leading to a formal investigation.
According to police, DeMers received payments totaling over $792,000 between October 2023 and March 2024 from Buky Construction and Eason Construction for products manufactured by E.S. Construction. However, instead of paying the supplier, DeMers allegedly redirected the funds into a complex web of business and personal accounts.
Investigators discovered at least 21 financial accounts tied to DeMers across multiple institutions, including Bank OZK, SoFi, Fifth Third Bank, and American Express. Two of these were GVWD business accounts. Authorities say DeMers used these accounts to disguise the flow of money and cover up the misuse of funds. He also allegedly funneled money from a $1 million life insurance policy payout into these accounts.
The investigation revealed that DeMers used customer funds for personal expenditures, including nearly $20,000 on air travel, over $200,000 in gambling, and substantial charges at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, including ATM withdrawals, luxury meals, spa services, and gift shop purchases.
An arrest warrant was issued in March, and DeMers was taken into custody after agreeing to meet with authorities at the Bradenton Police Department headquarters.
Gulf View Windows and Doors had been located at 2620 Manatee Ave W, but its operations have since ceased. The case remains under investigation.
