Gulfcoast South AHEC Opens Registration for 2026 Medical Interpreting Training Program
Gulfcoast South Area Health Education Center (GSAHEC) is inviting bilingual individuals to enhance their professional skills through its upcoming 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training course, beginning February 10, 2026. The program is designed to meet the growing demand for trained medical interpreters as more U.S. residents speak languages other than English.
The course is delivered in a hybrid format over seven weekly sessions, using Zoom and Google Classroom to provide flexible and accessible instruction. Participants will receive comprehensive training to improve communication in healthcare settings, support patient engagement, reduce liability risks, and help organizations meet accreditation and CLAS standards.
Upon successful completion, attendees will earn a certificate recognizing them as trained medical interpreters. The program also meets the eligibility requirements for those seeking national certification in the field.
GSAHEC encourages community members to share the opportunity with their networks to ensure broad access to this specialized workforce training.
Registration is open through February 2, 2026.
