Habitat for Humanity Breaks Ground on 27-Home Kings Cross Place Community in East Bradenton
A new chapter in affordable housing began May 20th as Habitat for Humanity broke ground on Kings Cross Place, a 27-home community that will provide safe, affordable housing for hardworking families in Manatee County.
More than 50 supporters, including community leaders, sponsors, and elected officials, gathered to mark the start of the project. Located in East Bradenton, Kings Cross Place will offer zero-interest mortgages to low-income families, with monthly payments ranging from $900 to $1,000.
The project was made possible by a historic land donation from RedElk Land Co., the largest such gift in the organization’s history. Major support also came from Bank OZK, Nissan of Bradenton, and Manatee County Government, helping turn the vision into a tangible plan for long-term community impact.
Florida State Representative Will Robinson attended the ceremony and expressed his continued support for expanding affordable housing across the region. His participation underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling the housing crisis.
As construction gets underway, Habitat for Humanity emphasized that Kings Cross Place is more than a neighborhood—it represents lasting opportunity and stability for 27 families.
The organization will continue providing updates as homes begin to take shape and families move closer to achieving homeownership.
