Haile Middle School Teacher Arrested for Lewd Conduct with Student
A Manatee County middle school teacher has been arrested following an investigation into inappropriate communications with a 14-year-old student, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Oliver Fell, 28, turned herself in to the Manatee County Jail on Monday night. She faces charges of lewd contact with a student by an authority figure, a second-degree felony, and transmission of harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony.
The investigation began on March 3, when a school resource deputy at Haile Middle School was informed by a male student that Fell had been in contact with him through Snapchat since December 2024. The student reported receiving an explicit photo from the teacher on January 2.
School administrators were notified of the allegations, and the Crimes Against Children Unit launched a formal investigation. Detectives executed search warrants and obtained access to the involved phones and social media accounts. Investigators confirmed that multiple messages had been exchanged and uncovered evidence supporting the student’s claims.
According to the sheriff’s office, digital evidence verified that the explicit image sent through Snapchat was a nude photo of Fell. Additional data retrieved on May 12 further corroborated the findings, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants.
The case remains under investigation by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
