Halloween Fun for Everyone At Bat City Comic Professionals
Bookish-Themed Holiday Fun On Two Great Days To Help Manatee County Celebrate Halloween!
Bat City Comic Professionals invites the community to celebrate the Halloween season with two great back-to-back events. The first event, Gothic Book Fair and Night Market, Friday, October 24 from 5PM to 9PM, is the perfect way to get in the spooky spirit. The second event, which features family-friendly fun, Batastic Halloween will be Saturday, October 25 from 11AM to 4PM, coinciding with the Old Manatee Trick-or-Treat event (11AM-2PM).
The inaugural Gothic Book Fair and Night Market will feature a line up of horror and gothic artists, oddities vendors, and a variety of spine-chilling books for all-ages
“Halloween is such a fun time for people to come together and celebrate imagination,” said Shannon Live, President at Bat City Comics. “We figured the best way to do that was to create a Book Fair themed around some of our favorites of Gothic and Horror literature for all-ages, which is why we created our Gothic Book Fair and Night Market. There are so many great stories from picture books to classic literature to comic books that really bring the season to life and we wanted a chance to showcase all of them, as well as some of the local artists and makers who embody that spirit all year long.”
The Saturday event which runs 11AM to 4PM is geared more towards families looking for a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. Bat City’s Batastic Halloween will include free comic books for all-ages, crafts, a sale on books in the store, artists, vendors, and a chance to stop into local Old Manatee businesses for treats between the hours of 11AM-2PM.
“We had so much fun spreading the joy of Halloween around our community the last two years that we couldn’t wait to do it again,” Live said. “Every business in the Manatee neighborhood has its own unique vibe. We have different kinds of thrift and vintage markets and stores, restaurants for all different taste buds, and a variety of ways to enjoy arts and entertainment on your own or with a crowd. This neighborhood is really growing into something amazing, and we want to highlight all these incredible businesses while saying thank you to our community at the same time.”
