Hands-On Fun Returns with “Make It Take It” Wednesdays at Manatee County Agricultural Museum
Families can look forward to a creative and educational experience this summer as the Manatee County Agricultural Museum revives its popular “Make It Take It” program every Wednesday in July. This free series is designed especially for pre-K and elementary-age children, though participants of all ages are welcome.
Each week, registered families are invited to explore the museum at their own pace, engaging in crafts, games, and interactive learning stations that dive into the world of agriculture. This year’s theme, “By Golly, It’s By Products!” focuses on agricultural by-products—those unexpected yet essential secondary materials produced from pigs, trees, sheep, and cows. These everyday items often go unnoticed, yet they play a vital role in our daily lives.
The program will run on July 9, 16, 23, and 30, with two sessions available each day: one from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., and another from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All activities take place at the Manatee County Agricultural Museum, located at 1015 6th St. W., Palmetto, FL.
While participation is free, advance registration is required for every member of your group. Registration opens two weeks before each event date. For more details and to sign up, visit the Manatee County Agricultural Museum’s website.
