The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is inviting young women interested in joining the 2027 De Soto Queen’s Court to attend an information social on Sunday, November 8, at 2 p.m. at the Bradenton Country Club.
The event will provide prospective participants and their parents or guardians with an opportunity to learn about the Queen’s Court program, including scholarship opportunities, leadership development, community service, and the friendships formed through participation.
The De Soto Queen’s Court is part of the Hernando de Soto Historical Society’s longstanding tradition of celebrating the history and heritage of Manatee County. Court members serve as ambassadors for the organization, participating in community events, charitable activities, and festivities associated with the annual De Soto celebration.
Beyond ceremonial appearances, the program emphasizes personal growth, public speaking, leadership skills, and civic involvement. Participants have opportunities to build connections throughout the community while representing the historical society at various functions.
The information social will allow interested young women to learn more about the selection process, expectations, and benefits of serving on the 2027 Queen’s Court.
The event is open to prospective applicants and their parents or guardians.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP through the Hernando de Soto Historical Society website at https://desotohq.com/current-court-4/.
