Hit-and-Run Charge Upgraded After Bradenton Victim Dies
CASE UPDATE
The charge against a woman accused of leaving the scene of an Aug. 8 hit-and-run crash in Bradenton has been upgraded following the death of the victim.
Lindsey Gore has now been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, a first-degree felony. She was initially charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.
The victim, 47-year-old Jose Jimenez, died Friday, Aug. 14, from injuries suffered in the crash.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, Jimenez was walking a bicycle across 14th Street West near 19th Avenue West when he was struck by a Toyota 4Runner driven by Gore.
Investigators said Gore left the crash scene and parked nearby. She was later seen walking back toward the area where the crash occurred before leaving a second time.
Police circulated images of the Toyota 4Runner as investigators worked to identify the driver. Gore was identified and arrested on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 9.
She was initially released on bond after being charged in connection with the serious-injury crash.
Following Jimenez’s death, the charge was upgraded. Gore was re-arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and is being held without bond.
