Holmes Beach Mayoral Race Set for November
In the upcoming November election, residents of Holmes Beach will choose between incumbent Mayor Judy Titsworth and newcomer Michael “Mike” Roth in the race for the mayoral seat. The election, slated for Tuesday, November 5, promises a contest between Titsworth’s seasoned leadership and Roth’s fresh approach to local governance.
Mayor Judy Titsworth, seeking her fourth consecutive two-year term, has served as the city's leader since 2018. With deep roots in Holmes Beach, Titsworth's focus on environmental stewardship and city development projects, such as improving stormwater drainage and expanding green spaces, has been a hallmark of her administration. Her emphasis on local issues like water quality and preserving the city’s unique character aligns with her vision for continued growth while maintaining a balance with nature.
In contrast, Mike Roth brings a military background and an outsider's perspective to the race. A retired lieutenant colonel with a career spanning over three decades in the U.S. Army and Florida Army National Guard, Roth sees the city’s commercial hub as an area in need of revitalization. He has campaigned on improving walkability and aesthetics in the Gulf and Marina Drives area and has called for new leadership to challenge consolidation efforts by state authorities that could affect Holmes Beach.
The election will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Church, the sole polling location for the city’s precinct 305. Early voting begins on October 21 and will run through November 2, with a final voting day on November 5.
Voters have until October 7 to register to participate in the election. Mail-in ballots must be received by the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
