Home Intruder Shot and Killed in Bradenton; Second Suspect Arrested

A man attempting to break into a home on Thursday night was fatally shot by a homeowner, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Deputies report the incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 6700 block of Hickory Hammock Circle.

Surveillance footage captured two unknown men trying to enter the home through the back of the house. The homeowner responded by firing multiple rounds, striking one of the suspects. The injured man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.

The second suspect fled the scene but was apprehended a few blocks away by a K9 unit.

MCSO confirmed that all individuals involved have been accounted for and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active as authorities review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
