HOPE Family Services Seeks Community Support for Emergency Safe Shelter Needs
Families seeking safety at HOPE Family Services Emergency Safe Shelter face urgent needs, and community support is critical to ensuring they have comfort, security, and stability during a crisis.
HOPE Family Services works around the clock to promote safety, strength, and well-being for individuals and families affected by domestic violence in Manatee County. As families arrive at the emergency shelter—often with little more than the clothes they are wearing—basic essentials become vital to helping them regain a sense of normalcy and care for their children.
The organization has released an urgent wish list that includes baby wipes and diapers, children’s medicine for ages 0–12, AA and AAA batteries, playpens and bassinets, strollers and car seats, phone chargers, bike light kits, baby formula, and gift cards for groceries, retail, and gas. These items help meet daily needs while families focus on healing and planning their next steps.
Community members can support shelter families by purchasing items through HOPE’s Amazon wish list or by donating in person. Donations can be dropped off at the HOPE Chest, located at 1215 8th Ave. W. in Bradenton, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those with questions or seeking additional information can call 941-747-8499.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference for families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Donations not only provide essential items but also send a powerful message of compassion and hope to those rebuilding after trauma.
HOPE Family Services is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Anyone in need of immediate assistance can contact the organization’s 24-hour crisis helpline at 941-755-6805.
