Independence Day Celebrations, Festivals and Family Fun Fill Manatee County Calendar
Manatee County will kick off the Independence Day holiday with nearly a week of patriotic celebrations, festivals, live music, fireworks, parades and family activities, giving residents and visitors plenty of opportunities to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
The festivities begin throughout the week with special events leading into the Fourth of July weekend.
On Friday, July 3, the Village of the Arts in Bradenton will host Paint the Village: Red, White & Blue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The two-day event continues July 4 and features local artists, galleries, shops, restaurants and live demonstrations throughout the historic arts district.
Baseball fans can also celebrate early when the Bradenton Marauders host their annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. game, featuring patriotic-themed jerseys, an Independence Day T-shirt giveaway for the first 1,500 fans and a postgame fireworks display.
Also on July 3, Fireworks on the Lake – America 250 returns to Nathan Benderson Park. The Pops Orchestra will perform patriotic classics before a choreographed fireworks show celebrating the nation’s semiquincentennial. The event includes general admission and VIP seating options.
Saturday, July 4 offers the largest concentration of events across Manatee County.
The day begins at 9 a.m. in Palmetto with the groundbreaking ceremony for Patriot Park, a new community gathering space honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
At 10 a.m., the Anna Maria Island Privateers present the Southeast’s largest water fight parade, traveling from Coquina Beach to the Anna Maria City Pier. Spectators are encouraged to expect plenty of water, colorful floats and pirate-themed entertainment.
Families can also attend a community Fourth of July picnic hosted by Manatee Lodge No. 31 and several local Masonic organizations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features food, fellowship and family activities and is open to the public.
Beginning at 5 p.m., the 15th Annual Palmetto Fourth Fest takes over Palmetto Riverside Park with live music by Soul Circus Cowboys, food and beverage vendors, children’s activities, free admission and free parking. The evening concludes with one of the region’s signature fireworks displays over the Manatee River.
Across the river, Bradenton Alive’s Fourth of July Celebration begins at Rossi Park and the Bradenton Riverwalk from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, children’s activities and a VIP area will lead into the fireworks celebration. Activities continue on Old Main Street from 7 to 11 p.m. with additional live music, restaurants and entertainment.
In eastern Manatee County, Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch will host the Star-Spangled Spectacular from 6 to 9 p.m. The family event features circus performances, a magic show, inflatables, carnival games, local food vendors and a 9 p.m. drone show over the lake. Complimentary trolley service will be available, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for limited seating.
Many local communities will continue Independence Day celebrations through the holiday weekend, with beaches, parks, restaurants and neighborhoods hosting additional patriotic activities.
The week concludes with continued summer programming and community events on Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6, as residents wrap up the extended holiday weekend before returning to regular schedules.
With celebrations stretching from Anna Maria Island to Lakewood Ranch, Manatee County residents will have opportunities throughout the week to enjoy concerts, fireworks, parades, baseball, family festivals and community gatherings commemorating the nation’s 250th birthday.
