Investigation Underway Into Reported Threat at Sugg Middle School
Bradenton police are investigating a reported school threat after a concerning text message circulated among students at Sugg Middle School overnight.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, the message referenced a potential school shooting, prompting an immediate response from detectives and the department’s Crime Reduction Team. Authorities also notified the School District of Manatee County as the investigation began.
As a precaution, additional law enforcement officers have been assigned to the campus. The increased presence is in addition to the school’s regular School Resource Officer, with officials emphasizing a proactive approach to ensure student and staff safety.
